After graduating from The Rhode Island School of Design, Ashley spent several years at Lilly Pulitzer as a Surface Designer honing her craft in painting and textiles. 

After seven years in the industry, she started Ashley D. Studio. Ashley become a good friend of mine in Charleston and it was only natural that we merge our talents to create a collaboration and elevate our dress collection with her gorgeous art.

Our newest collection is made in a women’s basketry cooperative in Morocco, allowing these women to be financially independent while providing their children with a safe and educational space. The remarkable craftsmanship of these women artisans is passed from mother to daughter. The baskets are woven by hand using natural raffia and then sent to a leather atelier to be finished. 

In October 2019, Sara visited the cooperative in Morocco. She fell in love with the artistry and story and soon after the Maroc Collection was born! Adding a Beau & Ro twist with a pop of color in our leather straps.

The cooperative firmly believes that women are one of the keys to development and change for a better future. And when you shop our Maroc Collection you are helping to deliver this lasting change.
